Hey I’m Stu and I’m a GEM4 student, hailing from Sydney, Australia. Prior to studying medicine, I worked as a researcher in a cancer immunology lab developing novel immunotherapies to treat melanoma. I spend most of my time outside of college on my bike, taking photos or shredding the gnar.

DEPUTY EDITOR (Content)

Emma Grady

Hi, I’m Emma. I am a Stage 3 UEM student from Sligo. My research interests are broad, from general practice to paediatrics. My current work is focused on the genomic basis of childhood leukaemia. Outside of medicine, I make a pretty decent lemon drizzle cake and I have a rather crippling addiction to tea (Barry’s specifically).

Design Officer

Rhonwyn Waterson

Hi! I’m a GEM 1 student from Vancouver, Canada. My undergraduate degree in Health Science introduced me to medical research and all the hard work that goes into it, so I am very excited to be on the team for this edition. I am particularly interested in research in Spinal Cord Injury, wound repair, and Dermatology and continue to be involved in these fields. I look forward to learning about research topics being explored by students and helping it all come together nicely. Outside of school I love travelling, trying new foods, and singing!

DEPUTY EDITOR (communications)

Tom Rafter

Hi I’m Tom! I’m a stage four UEM student from Meath. Since I came into college I have garnered a great interest in research and I have completed projects in the area of rehabilitation healthcare. When I am not in college I’m kept busy at milking cows on the farm!

I hope to learn more about the scientific publishing process as well as organizing journal events in the coming year. Outside of school, I enjoy playing the violin, going to the cinema, and horse riding!
